Stone leads the way with eighth-place finish in singles; Three finish in Top 10 of MSC Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The 2020 Mid-South Conference Women's Bowling Championship got underway with singles and doubles on Thursday afternoon at Southern Lanes and the Lady Tigers had three Top 10 finishes.

The Lady Tigers were led in singles by Morgan Stone's eight-place finish with 959 total pints. She was behind the championship, Emily Tull from Pikeville, by just over 40 pins. Stone bowled games of 160, 176, 220, 222, and 180.

Stone was joined by her teammates Candace Gibson (16^th) and the 2019 Freshman of the Year, Shelbi Morris (18^th). Gibson tallied 827 pins, while Morris finished with 916.

Mirena Combs (887; 28^th), Ashley Moch (879; 29^th), Madeline Horton (879; 31^st), Jessika Scott (842; 42^nd), and Hannah Dowell (790; 61^st).

In doubles, Campbellsville had a pair of teams in the Top 10. Stone teamed up with Mirena Combs to finish in seventh place with a combined 1,845 pins. Right behind them was Morris and Gibson in eighth place with 1,843 pins.

Horton and Moch placed 15^th with 1,763 pints, while Dowell and Scott finished in 28^th with 1,632 pins.

The team championships get underway on Friday at Southern Lanes in Bowling Green, Ky.
