Camacho records highs in kills, aces, and digs, as the Tigers bounce back with 3-0 win

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – After two straight losses to open their Carolina road swing, the Tigers were able to finish the trip on a high note with a 3-0 sweep over North Greenville University.

Following their first time being swept on the season Friday night, losing to NCAA Division II program Limestone College, the Tigers (13-2) put together a straight set victory over NGU (4-4), 25-20, 25-17, and 25-19.

With an overall attacking percentage of .303, the Tigers were much improved upon their hitting of .090 a night ago.

This number was greatly helped by the extremely efficient play of sophomore, Jason Camacho. While not leading the Tigers in kills, Camacho was able to hit 10-16 without recording an error on the afternoon, for a hitting mark of .625. Camacho then added to his afternoon with five service aces and eight digs, all marking season-highs.

Rafael Cruz and Yannik Ahr added their names to the kill column with double digit afternoons, led by three set season-high 13 from the Tiger's all-time leading attacker, Cruz. Ahr was able to match Camacho's number by adding 10 to the Campbellsville total on 19 attacks.

Overall, the Tigers showed consistency throughout their three sets of action hitting for 14-30, 13-29, and 14-30 in the games.

On the other hand, CU was able to limit North Greenville to an attacking number just north of .100, hitting .113 on 25-80.

Much of Campbellsville's attacking success came at the assistance of Jeremy Hernandez, who set up 29 of the Tiger attacks, for a new season high. Hernandez's mark is the second high in a three-set match for CU this season.

After dropping their first two matches of the trip, Campbellsville showed some resiliency in recording their 10thsweep of the season to close it out.

Campbellsville will now return home on Tuesday, Feb. 11th for their second Mid-South Conference match of the season, hosting Thomas More. The Tiger volleyball program will be playing the match alongside KY Boys volleyball night, with play to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
