Warman falls in five-hole playoff; Tigers finish runner-up to complete 2020 season

OPELIKA, Ala. — Justin Warman lost in the fifth playoff hole and Campbellsville University finished runner-up at the Lawrence Tech University Spring Break Invitational hosted at Grand National Lake Course.

The Tigers shot 296 and 285 in the two-day tournament to finish five-over par. The three-under 285 is the third-lowest all season for the Tigers and the eighth time CU has shot in the 200s.

Warman fired a three-under 69 in round one and backed it up with a four-under 68 – which is the first time this season he has shot two rounds in the 60s this season. He lost on the fifth playoff hole to Ryan van der Klis from Point University.

Landon Conner was solid in the two rounds and jumped seven places up the leaderboard with a two-under 70 in the final round to finish in a tie for 10^th place. The Top 10 is the fourth this season for Conner during his sophomore season.

Austin Mahoney was consistent with rounds of 75 and 74 to finish in a tie for 17^th place. The junior completed his career with the sixth Top 20 finish of the year.

Seth Bohl shot a 77 in round one before jumping up the leaderboard 11 spots with a one-over 73 to finish tied for 20^th.

Rounding out Campbellsville's Top 5 was Clay Barnett finished in 56^th. He shot 83 and 82 in just his third collegiate tournament.

Point University won the tournament with scores of 278 and 274, while Lindsey Wilson finished in third place and University of the Cumberlands was fourth.

With the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling the remainer of the 2020 season, the Tigers finish the year with three tournament wins, two runner-ups and three third-place finishes.
