Croteau’s clutch header sends Campbellsville home victorious

McKENZIE, Tenn. – Jenna Croteau's goal in the 86th minute fueled the Lady Tigers on Tuesday night to a 3-2 win. Campbellsville improves to 10-1 on the season and they are now 6-0 inside of MSC competition.

Bethel would strike first in the 10th minute after a turnover in the defensive third. A short seven minutes later, Campbellsville amped up the pressure in the offensive third. A failed clearance by the Wildcats found the foot of Lina Berrah. Berrah would take one touch and finish back post to knot the match at one.

The Lady Tigers would fire a few more shots leading up to the 40th minute of play. Angeline Kieh would control a cross in the box, juggle it twice, then kick the pass with her back heel to a running Sangmin Cha for the second goal. Three minutes later in the 43rd, Bethel found the equalizer with another one-on-one opportunity.

In the second 45 minutes of play, the two teams were trading opportunities. Bethel's goalkeeper racked up eight saves on the night and held CU in check. Kieh would dive into the box and win a corner in the 85th minute. From there, Jenna Croteau made a run in the middle of the box connecting for the game winner from Kieh.

Campbellsville outshot Bethel 19-6, placing 11 on the Wildcats' goal. Croteau and Kieh would each finish with five shots and Berrah ripped off four.

The Lady Tigers remain on the road for their next contest. On Saturday, CU travels to Henderson, Tennessee for a date with Freed-Hardeman. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET.
