GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Campbellsville University women's soccer team was victorious in Saturday afternoon's match at Georgetown College as they close out the regular season. The Lady Tigers left the field with a score of 2-0 over Georgetown.
The Lady Tigers started the game off with intense defense that they maintained throughout the game. Campbellsville only allowed the Tigers to shoot one shot at the goal and Campbellsville was able to display dominance with 12 shots toward the Tiger goal.
Olja Ivanovic was able to shoot between the goal post as she was assisted by
Angeline Kieh in the 35
th minute of play.
The second half was equally as successful due to the Lady Tigers earning themselves another goal. Kieh made her way down the field to score. Kieh was unassisted when she made the shot with 20 seconds left on the clock.
Riley Thompson was able to save the one and only shot toward the Tigers goal which kept Georgetown scoreless.
Campbellsville held possession over Georgetown for majority of the game. The Lady Tigers were awarded four corner kicks in the first and three in the second half. Georgetown were only able to receive one corner kick throughout the game.
This game would end the regular season for the Campbellsville University women's soccer team. Their next matchup will be in the Mid-South Conference Tournament November 5
th-6
th. The Lady Tigers earned themselves the third seed entering the tournament.
