BOWLING GREEN, KY – Cierra Merrick has been named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year conference officials announced Wednesday.
 
This is only the second time in program history that the Lady Tigers have had a Freshman of the Year honoree be named. The last time the team had one was over 10 years ago in 2010 when Audrey Sanders earned the honor.
 
This season, Cierra has been lights out for the Lady Tigers on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side she has been able to bring in 245 kills on the year. Merrick leads the team in total kills while fellow freshman Molly Shannon is right behind her with 212.
 
On the defensive side, Merrick has collected 85 digs and 43 blocks while 10 of those blocks were all solo.
 
Campbellsville is set to play the winner of Cumberland University and the University of Pikeville Thursday November 11^th at 4 p.m. ET. The Mid-South Conference Championships will be held in Bowling Green, KY. this year.
