Lady Tigers end their season in NCCAA National Tournament semifinals

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The Lady Tigers battled the Mid-America Christian University Evangels in the semifinals of the NCCAA National Tournament Saturday morning falling 3-1.
 
The first set began with a Molly Shannon kill. Despite scoring the first two points of the match, Mid-America Christian would storm back and find themselves a 12-7 lead. The Lady Tigers would battle back however and force an Evangels timeout with the score at 13-11 in favor of Mid-America Christian. The Evangels would take the opening set 25-22 aided by Campbellsville's 15 errors.
 
Campbellsville bounced back effectively as they stormed out in set two to a considerable lead. Molly Shannon posted eight kills through the first two sets while having 14 digs as well. It would be a 25-16 victory for the Lady Tigers. The third set was the inverse situation as the Evangels held control of the rallies from the get-go ending 25-12.
 
Although Campbellsville fought valiantly, they were unable to retake charge of the match and fell in the fourth set 25-20. Error count was in favor of the Evangels as they were able to keep their errors under half of that of Campbellsville's. The Lady Tigers season ended with an ample number of digs within the last match. Campbellsville totaled 116 total digs, 43 of which were Salma Gonzalez-Sosa's. The Lady Tigers only trailed Mid-American Christian by two kills throughout the match. Campbellsville finished with 42 kills compared to the Evangels 44 kills. Campbellsville's defense aided in their journey against Mid-American Christian because their offensive drive faltered against their component. The Evangels tallied a .156 hitting percentage as Campbellsville finished the match with a .052 hitting percentage.

The Lady Tigers fall to Mid-American Christian putting an end to their season.
