Tigers finish road schedule against Martin Methodist and Life

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – As the regular season nears its end, the Campbellsville University men's basketball team heads south for their final two road games of the season when they face Martin Methodist College on Thursday and Life University on Saturday.

The Tigers and Redhawks will square off at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on Thursday in Pulaski, Tenn. and CU will then head to Marietta, Ga. to face the Running Eagles at 4 p.m. ET.

BROADCAST AND ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
  • With the CU football season opener at home on Friday, there will be no WLCU radio broadcasts for the basketball games this week and that is subject to chance based on the status of the football game.
  • Neither Martin Methodist nor Life allow fans of visiting teams to attend their basketball games but both schools provide video streams via Stretch Internet.
  • The stream link for Martin Methodist is https://portal.stretchinternet.com/martinmethodist/ and the stream link for Life is https://portal.stretchinternet.com/life/.

TIGER NOTES
  • Campbellsville went 2-1 last week as they extended their winning streak to three games with wins over Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland before dropping their game this past Monday to Georgetown.
  • With four games remaining on their regular season schedule, the Tigers sit in the No. 9 spot in the Mid-South Conference as that would set up an opening round in the MSC tournament against Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. before the tournament continues at the host site.
  • Through this season, CU has played to an even 6-6 record at home and a 3-6 record on the road as the Tigers will look to pull their road record closer to .500 before the end of the season.
  • At their 7-11 MSC record, all but one of those wins have come against Cumberlands, Lindsey Wilson, and Cumberland as their only other conference win came against Bethel on Dec. 3 to start their conference season.

Campbellsville Tigers (9-12, 7-11 MSC) @ Martin Methodist Redhawks (13-8, 9-8 MSC)
Thursday, Feb. 11, 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT – Curry Christian Life Center, Pulaski, Tenn.
  • The Redhawks head into the game on Thursday with a 13-8 overall record and a 9-8 record in Mid-South Conference play as they sit in sixth place with two weeks remaining.
  • These two teams met earlier this season at the Powell Athletic Center as MMC was able to come away with a 92-85 win behind 36 points from Teddy Fifer.
  • Since that game Fifer has only played in one game and hasn't played since December as their top two leading scorers of Darrin Jenkins and Adarion Hudson are both averaging 18.1 points per game.
  • Without Fifer as that third scorer, the Redhawks have struggled to a 6-7 record since the calendar moved to 2021 including going 3-7 over their last 10.

Campbellsville Tigers (9-12, 7-11 MSC) @ Life Running Eagles (8-9, 4-9 MSC)
Saturday, Feb. 13, 4 p.m. ET – Eagles' Nest – Marietta, Ga.
  • Life is just one spot below the Tigers in the Mid-South Conference standings with an 8-9 overall record and a 4-9 MSC record.
  • The Running Eagles won the previous matchup between these two teams earlier this season as LU came away with an 88-70 win at the Powell Athletic Center on Jan. 16.
  • Life has lost four of their last five games dating back to Jan. 28 with their most recent winning coming against Freed-Hardeman last Thursday.
  • LU has a pretty deep offensive attack as Isaiah Hart (15.9), Jordan Hernandez (11.6), James Moore (11.1), and Lorenzo Ferrell (10.6) are all averaging double figures for the season.

LOOKING AHEAD
  • Following these pair of games, Campbellsville will return home for their final two games of the season when they play host to Thomas More University next Thursday and Shawnee State University next Saturday.
