Lady Tigers win rebounding margin in big way, CU rolls past Life 98-44

Box Score MARIETTA, Ga. — No. 3 Lady Tiger basketball out-rebounded Life University 52-29 and ran past the Running Eagles 98-46 on Saturday afternoon.

The 52 rebounds for Campbellsville are the second-most all season as the Lady Tigers tallied 54 against Cumberland University on Dec. 31. The Lady Tigers also scored a season-high 67 bench points in the rout.

Lexy Lake and Sarah Sutton both led CU with 13 points each as Sutton finished 6-of-7 overall with five rebounds and two assists, while Lake hit three 3-point baskets to lead CU from deep. Overall, Campbellsville hit 10-of-32 from behind the 3-point line.

Savannah Gregory also tallied double-figured with 11 points. Maddy Boyle finished with a career-high nine points in just her seventh game since transferring the Lady Tigers at Christmas break.

Overall, the Lady Tigers were 33-of-78 from the floor. It was the fourth time all season CU tallied over 70 shots and dominated time of possession. Life was held to 16-of-53 overall and just 2-of-10 from behind the 3-point line.

Ashlee McGeorge led the rebounding effort with seven boards, while Lauren Lee, Sammy Rogers and Sutton all finished with seven and Madison Sheppard tallied six.

Campbellsville turned the Running Eagles over 32 times – which is the fourth most all season for Life. The Lady Tigers scored 25 points off those miscues with 21 total steals.

Campbellsville returns to action on on Monday as the Lady Tigers travel to Lindsey Wilson College with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. On Thursday, the Lady Tigers have a NAIA Top 3 matchup with Thomas More University on Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. ET. The Saints have handed CU the lone loss on the season, 65-55, and recently moved to No. 1 in the NAIA rankings.
