Lady Tigers close out regular season with first matchup against Shawnee State

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – With their previous two games being lost due to weather created travel issues, the Campbellsville University women's basketball team will host their regular season finale against Shawnee State this Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. ET at the Powell Athletic Center.

Saturday will also be Senior Day for the Lady Tigers as they will recognize Sammy Rogers and Savannah Gregory on the court prior to tip of the game.

WLCU-TV/FM will broadcast the game on Saturday locally on Comcast-10 and 88.7 The Tiger as the games will also be streamed online at www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch. Matt Payton and Benji Kelly will be on the call live courtside from the Powell Athletic Center as Senior Day coverage will also be carried on the air.

LADY TIGER NOTES
  • With just this game remaining in the regular season, Campbellsville earned a first-round bye in the Mid-South Conference tournament as they are locked into the No. 2 seed in the MSC Tournament.
  • The Lady Tigers sit at 15-1 overall and 11-1 in the conference as their only loss came on the road to Thomas More with the rematch in Campbellsville being canceled on Thursday due to the snow and ice.
  • CU has remained a consistently strong team on both ends of the floor despite the inconsistencies in the schedule as they rank in the Top-10 in seven different statistical categories, including being top in the NAIA in assists per game (20.8).
  • Individually, Gregory and Rogers are still the go-to players offensively as both are in double figures but an emerging secondary scorer off the bench in Sarah Sutton as she is now the fourth leading scorer on the team with 8.2 points per game.

SCOUTING SHAWNEE STATE
  • The Bears find themselves lower in the NAIA rankings this year compared to years past as they will come into this lone matchup with CU ranked No. 18 in the Coaches' Poll.
  • SSU sits at a 16-6 overall record and 10-6 in Mid-South Conference play on the season to place them in fifth place in the standings, which would put them as a host of an opening round game in the tournament.
  • The trio of Brandie Snow, Carson Roney, and Anyia Pride lead the way offensively and on the glass for the Bears as they are all scoring double figures and averaging 6.8 or more rebounds per game.
  • Shawnee State has suffered losses in their last two games against Cumberlands and Thomas More with their last win coming on Feb. 4 against Pikeville.

LOOKING AHEAD
  • The Mid-South Conference Tournament will begin on Feb. 27 with opening round matchups as the Lady Tigers will await results from that opening round to see who their opponent will be in the quarterfinals.
