Lady Tigers dominate Pikeville to secure fourth straight MSC sweep

Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. — For the fourth straight match, Campbellsville University women's volleyball swept its opponent in straight sets as the Lady Tigers beat University of Pikeville on Saturday afternoon, 25-17, 25-11, 25-15.

The win improves the Lady Tiger record to 10-4 overall and 4-2 inside Mid-South Conference play. Pikeville falls to 2-7 overall and 0-6 inside the MSC.

Sutton Mason led CU's offense attack with eight kills on 16 attacks with only one error. Her .438 hitting percentage is the second highest of the season (.529 vs. Asbury) and her 16 attacks was the lowest of the year as well.

Sonia Flendrich finished with six kills and hit .357, while Hannah McGill had five kills and Sophie Ball finished with four. The Lady Tigers hit .226 overall and held UPIKE in check with an attacking percentage of -0.086 as the Bears finished with 21 kills, 30 errors and 105 attacks.

Katie Morin continues to lead the defense and has settled nicely into the libero position. She finished with 17 digs to lead CU and also picked up a game-high two service aces.

With the victory, the Lady Tigers will now welcome Columbia International and IU Southeast into town on Tuesday, March 16. CU and Columbia International will play at 1 p.m. ET and the Lady Tigers close the day at 7 p.m. ET against the Grenadiers. Both games will air on the CU Sports Network.
