TIGER NOTES
- Campbellsville is coming off of a 27-6 loss at Georgetown last Friday as CU was able to hang in the game for about three quarters until Georgetown pulled away in the fourth.
- The Tigers had a better game from quarterback Chase Elmore but unfortunately, Elmore was injured in the game and will not be available for CU against Cumberlands.
- That will make Joshua Meglis the starting signal caller against the Patriots as the sophomore has seen action in three games over his two seasons with his most action coming as the starter in the 2019 season finale against Bethel where he went 10-28 for 195 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
- CU's defense has had its success despite being on the field a lot as they are led by a potent front-seven that includes leading tackler Jon Carrothers, who had 11 tackles against Georgetown and Micah Corley had a big game rushing the passer with 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a tipped passed that was eventually intercepted by Andrew Bennett.
SCOUTING CUMBERLANDS
- Cumberlands is 1-3 on the season with their only win coming by a 42-6 score over Cumberland and their losses coming to Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson, and Bethel.
- The Patriots are led by a strong rushing attack that averages 4.5 yards per carry and 183.5 yards per game as running backs Martize Smith and Zalon Reynolds both average near six yards per carry on over 40 attempts.
- Smith is most recently coming off of a game where he rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns against Bethel that led to Smith earning MSC Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week.
- Defensively, the top-two tacklers for UC are freshman in safety Walker Dunn (30) and linebacker Adam Chaney (25) as Chaney has one of the team's three interceptions on the season.
LOOKING AHEAD
- Campbellsville will head into an off week after the game against the Patriots before hosting Lindsey Wilson on Thursday, Apr. 1 for the final home game of the 2020 season.
