Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. – The Campbellsville University men's soccer team dropped their second-straight road game Tuesday night at Martin Methodist College by a narrow 1-0 result.
It was a scoreless tie through 63 minutes as the Redhawks were able to notch the only score of the game in the 64
th minute on a goal from Miguel Tizapa. Tizapa was a throne in the sides of the Tigers most of the night as he fired a game-high five shots, with four of them challenging CU keeper
Jeremi Campagnolo on net.
The Tigers were outshot in the game 16-11 with shots on goal finishing in favor of MMC as well at 8-5 to finish the 90 minutes. Only three CU players fired more than one shot with
Sebastiano Musu taking three,
Tom Edge taking two, and
Kalvin Semedo also taking two.
In their comeback effort, Campbellsville took a costly red card as
Gustav Oskarsson was sent off in the 74
th minute, putting the Tigers a man down for the final 16:56 of the game.
From that point on, no shots were taken by either team as the Redhawks were able to close out the slim 1-0 win, also forcing Campbellsville offside twice.
The Tigers will make-up their postponed game at University of Pikeville from earlier this season as they will travel to Pikeville, Ky. for a Mar. 28 meeting with the Bears at 3 p.m. ET.
