KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A final accolade to outstanding careers as Campbellsville University women's basketball players Savannah Gregory and Sammy Rogers were named to the NAIA All-America First Team, NAIA officials announced Thursday afternoon.
 
The pair led the Lady Tigers to a 20-3 final record and an NAIA Tournament Quarterfinals appearance for the second-straight tournament after the cancelation of the 2020 tournament.
 
For Gregory, it is her third-straight NAIA All-American honor and the first time she was a first-team selection after back-to-back seasons as a Second Team pick. Gregory has a long list of honors that isn't finished yet as she will head to the track for her final season on the track and field team as she has collected numerous accomplishments individually as a Lady Tiger.
 
On the court in 2020-21, the Scottsville, Ky. native finished with a 13.0 points per game mark after the completion of the postseason while leading the Lady Tigers in rebounding, grabbing 5.5 boards per game. The defensive catalyst, Gregory totaled 70 steals in the 23 games for a 3.0 steals per game average.
 
For Rogers, this All-America selection is the peak of a consistently rising career from start to finish at CU as she climbed to the team's leading scorer in 2020-21, moving from 1.9 points per game as a freshman to 15.0 points this season to lead the Lady Tigers offensively.
 
A player the size of a forward with guard skills, the Lawrenceburg, Ky. native shot 46.7 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from three-point range, and 77.4 percent from the free throw line. She also averaged over five rebounds per game at 5.2 while also leading the team in blocked shots with 11.
 
Both Rogers and Gregory have chosen not to return to the Lady Tiger roster for the 2021-22 season despite the NAIA granting all winter sport athletes an extra year of eligibility as they both look forward towards pursuing careers teaching.
