CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A games that was supposed to kick off the 2020 season in 2021 will finally come to fruition as the Campbellsville University football team will host Bethel University this Friday evening at 5 p.m. ET at Finley Stadium.

The Tigers and Wildcats were originally scheduled to play in Campbellsville on Feb. 12 but an ice storm in the area wiped the game out, rendering the turf at Finley Stadium to be unplayable on that date.

No fans will be allowed to enter Finley Stadium for the game on Friday due to the ongoing construction of the new stadium box and upgraded bleachers, but fans can tune into the game in multiple ways via WLCU TV and FM.

Jim Freeman and
Matt Payton will be on the airwaves of the CU Sports Network on Comcast 10 and 88.7 The Tiger locally, as well as worldwide online at

TIGER NOTES
	- Campbellsville earned their first win as a program since Sept. 21, 2019 when they beat Pikeville last Friday by a final score of 14-13 on the road.
- Campbellsville's two touchdowns in the air from quarterback Chase Elmore to receiver Tate Pringle as Pringle has been a big play and touchdown threat in the early going, racking up 189 receiving yards and four touchdown catches in just eight total receptions.
- Elmore has had a hot and cold start to his freshman campaign at QB, throwing five touchdown passes in two games but also throwing five interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns against Thomas More.
- Defensively, freshman safety Chance Lucas came up clutch for the Tigers against the Bears as he came away with a pair of interceptions, one in the fourth quarter near the CU goal line on his way to earning Mid-South Conference and NAIA Defensive Player of the Week in just his second collegiate game played.
- Pressure on the quarterback has been limited on both sides of the ball for the Tigers as CU quarterbacks have only been sacked four times in two games after giving up 55 last season, but on the defensive side of the ball, Campbellsville's front has only been able to produce a single sack over their first two games.
SCOUTING BETHEL
	- The Wildcats earned a big 49-7 win over Thomas More in their only game so far on Feb. 26 after having their first two games of the season against CU and Pikeville postponed.
- In that game against Thomas More, Bethel use a potent rushing attack led by 200 yards on the ground from running back De'Ontay Tate although Tate didn't get into the end zone.
- Of their seven touchdowns, three total were scored by quarterback Jacob Murphree as he scored two through the air and another on the ground with Davius Prather adding two rushing touchdowns, and Anthony Hughes adding the final rushing score.
- Defensively, the Wildcats turned the Saints over five times with two interceptions and three fumbles while creating eight tackles for a loss and three sacks.
LOOKING AHEAD
	- Following the home opener, the Tigers will hit the road for one week when they face Georgetown College on Mar. 12 before returning home for two straight home games with an off week in the middle.
