Proctor and Bryson lead offensive attack as Lady Tigers shutout Thomas More

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Looking to ride the momentum from an offensive outbreak at Shawnee State from earlier this week, the Campbellsville University women's soccer team came through with a 3-0 victory over Thomas Moore Sunday afternoon.

Campbellsville (5-3, 3-2 MSC) didn't take long to side the momentum. Adding Abigail Proctor to the midfield this spring season has proved to be a great decision by head coach Alex Adams. In the 12th minute, Proctor won a ball in the midfield off a goal kick by TMU. She took three dribbles in and fired a laser connecting with the net from about 30 yards out.

14 minutes later, the Lady Tigers would use the speed of Bryson. She made her way past the Saints defensive line, leaving her with a one on one with the keeper. The sophomore kept composure in the box and finished goal number two for CU.

Campbellsville dominated the possession in the opening half. The second half, Thomas More would come out with different intensity. The Saints got a pair of shots within the first five minutes, but Campbellsville would outshoot Thomas More, 12-7, including a combined seven on frame.

In the 86th minute, Bryson got on the loose again after Thomas More was pushed up in attack mode. A long ball played up found Bryson with another one-on-one chance. She stayed calm, working her way into the box before getting fouled. Bryson would take the PK, finishing it in the top left corner for goal number three. Her two goals today have her at four on the season, tied with Proctor.

It was a solid day for the back line and goalie Katelyn Young. The defense held Thomas More to only seven shots, putting two of those on goal. Young would make both of those saves with ease.

The Lady Tigers return home on Tuesday awaiting a matchup with Georgetown College. That action is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted live on the CU Sports Network.
