Lady Tiger softball sweeps UPIKE with 39 runs over the weekend

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A combined 39 runs in four games led No. 24 Campbellsville University softball to a series sweep over University of Pikeville over the weekend. 
 
The Lady Tigers totaled 46 hits in the four-game series with 12 doubles, two triples and four home runs – including a game-four grand slam by senior Tori Humphrey
 
In the circle, Katy Chadwell and Karson Williams both picked up a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday while Courtney Patterson also saw action in the circle on Friday. 
 
Chadwell tossed a combined 13 innings allowing 10 hits and two earned runs while striking out 10. She's lowered her ERA to 2.51 and is now 12-4 overall. 
 
Williams tossed 11 combined innings with four earned runs and four strikeouts. Her ERA dipped to 2.85 and her record improves to 13-2 overall. 
 
Offensively, the Lady Tigers were led by Ryley Whitney's 7-for-15 weekend with five RBI and three doubles. Her batting average improved to a team-high .449 on the year – which is also a career-high for Whitney. She's currently picked up a hit in 13 of the last 14 games. 
 
Humphrey went 6-for-13 this weekend with six RBI and scoring three runs. Blades went 6-for-13 as well with eight RBI, a home run, and a double to improve her average up to .412. Blades is now on a 10-game hitting streak
 
Hannah Judd returned to the lineup after missing the last few weeks and was 6-for-14 with five RBI, a double and homer – both in game three of the series. Her averaged jumped from .246 on the year to .280 after the weekend.
