CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The final four games of the season for the Campbellsville University softball team are big ones in terms of Mid-South Conference regular season standings as they travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. for a four-games MSC series against Thomas More University.
The Lady Tigers and Saints were scheduled to play their series on the normal Friday/Saturday weekend but rain has pushed the second day's doubleheader to Sunday. Friday's games are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET with Sunday slated to start at 1 p.m. ET.
Per Thomas More's fan attendance policy, no fans of visiting teams are permitted at any of their athletic events. For the Campbellsville coverage,
Jordan Alves will be on the call on the CU Sports Network live from Thomas More Softball Field for an audio only broadcast streamed at

MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE SEEDING
- This season, with the addition of Freed-Hardeman, Bethel, and Martin Methodist to the Mid-South Conference, the MSC Tournament will have a new format with every team but the regular season champion and No. 1 seed competing in an opening round three-game series.
- The seeding matchups will be No. 2 vs. No. 11, No. 3 vs. No. 10, No. 4 vs. No. 9, No. 5 vs. No. 8, and No. 6 vs. No. 7 with the higher seeds hosting the series as the home team.
- As it currently stands, Campbellsville is in sole possession of second place and can tie the current first place team in Lindsey Wilson College, who is done with their MSC schedule, with a four-game sweep of Thomas More.
- With the dueling 27-5 MSC records from both the Blue Raiders and the Lady Tigers, the teams would share the regular season title and CU would earn the bye into the final bracket of the tournament based off of Campbellsville owning a better regular season record against Bethel University.
LADY TIGER NOTES
- Following their lone MSC series loss of the season, CU has been able to win their last eight conference games after sweeps of both Pikeville and Georgetown the last two weekends.
- After that Cumberlands series where they only scored 12 total runs in four games, the Lady Tigers have been able to average 8.6 runs per game over their last 10, which includes a non-conference doubleheader split at Union on Apr. 13.
- Last week specifically, Ryley Whitney carried a bulk of the offensive load on her way to earning her first-career MSC Player of the Week honor after totaling 11 RBIs and four runs scored on eight hits with four doubles and three home runs for a slugging percentage of 1.050 in the six games.
- The pitching has continued to remain solid for the Lady Tigers with both Katy Chadwell and Karson Williams picking up their 15th wins in the circle over the weekend as the tandem have both given up the exact same amount of hits (108) and runs (49) with Chadwell throwing 12.2 more innings so far.
SCOUTING THOMAS MORE
- The Saints have their own MSC seeding scenarios to play for as they sit right on the cusp of hosting an opening round series as the current No. 7 seed with a 10-18 record in MSC play.
- TMU has split their last six games including winning three out of four in their most recent conference series against Shawnee State.
- Only one hitter for Thomas More has appeared in 40 games and it's their leading hitter Hailey McAdoo as she touts a .360 batting average with 45 hits and 20 runs scored to also lead the team.
- Their main power threat in the lineup is Andrea Gahan who leads the team in doubles (12), home runs (6), and RBIs (32) as a primary run producer for the Saints.
- In the circle, Annika Gels is the bonified aces for Thomas More with 23 starts and a 2.78 ERA, almost 2.5 runs better than the next lowest individual ERA on the team, through 151.1 innings pitched.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Lady Tigers will move into postseason preparation mode after this weekend with no more regular season games remaining on the schedule past the Thomas More games.
- The two likeliest scenarios for CU are earning the No. 1 seed in the Mid-South Conference Tournament or remaining as the No. 2 to host either Pikeville or Shawnee State in the opening round next weekend at Hord Softball Field.
