WILLIAMBURG, KY – After day one of competition the Tigers are sitting in fifth place with 38 points.
Freshman
Shawn Little started the day off with a school record performance in the 10,000m run. Little broke the school record with a time of 32:11.16 earning the bronze medal.
Jacob Hamilton was able to help with four points placing fifth with a time of 33:10.07.
In the steeplechase, Chase Hill was able to bring in another key three points to the board. The freshman was able to run a 10:23.07 placing sixth.
The 4x800m relay was able to bring in the final points on the track.
Aiden Tucker,
Collin Sheffield,
Kipkoech Lang'at, and Little were able to place sixth and earn three points.
Caleb Costin and
Isaac Kern brought in six points in the hammer throw. Costin led the way with a fourth place finish with a mark of 44.03m while Kern's was eighth with a toss of 40.84m.
In the jumps,
Jarrett Crawford was able to place fifth with a height of 3.00m while teammate
Cainan Daniels was able to bring in the last point in the event at eighth place with a mark of 2.86m.
David Young was the lone scorer for the Tigers in the long jump. The freshman placed seventh with a mark of 6.44m.
Edwin Ford finished off the day for the Tigers with his runner-up finish in the javelin throw. Ford threw for a distance of 46.67m. Ford was also able to qualifying in his other event for finals in the 400m hurdles. He claimed the final spot running a 1:07.04 in prelims.
Campbellsville had a number of athletes qualify for finals in their respective events. In the 100m dash
Jackson Harrell and
Elijah Moore were able to move on. Harrell ran a 11.15 and Moore ran 11.09. Harrell also qualified in the 200m dash with a time of 22.42.
Darionta Bell joined Harrell with his qualifying time of 22.52 in the 200m claiming the final spot.
The Tigers are back in action tomorrow for day two of the Mid-South Conference Championships.
