Tigers come up with clutch performances to finish fourth place overall at the MSC Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, KY – The Tigers were able to improve upon day ones performances and moved up to finish fourth place in the Mid-South Conference Championships.
 
David Young and Brevon Whitney were able to lead the Tigers collecting 14 points in the triple jump. Young placed runner-up in the event with a new season best mark of 13.99m while Whitney earned the bronze medal with also a season best jump of 13.76m.
 
Jeremiah Parker was able to join Young and Whitney on the field events podium. Parker placed third in the discus throw with a mark of 43.84m. Caleb Costin added to the final field events scores for the Tigers with his sixth place finish in the event at 14.11m.
 
On the track Jackson Harrell came in sixth place in the 100m dash .1 seconds behind his season best at 11.26 seconds. Darionta Bell was able to bring in four key points for Campbellsville with his fifth place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 22.33. Bell, Whitney, Elijah Moore, and Jaron Hamby missed a podium finish in the 4x100m relay placing fourth at 42.83. 
 
Senior Edwin Ford finished fifth in the finals of the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.46
 
In the distance events, Sam Kiser led the way with a 1500m runner-up finish. The senior was unable to race the event winner head-to-head due to being in a separate heat but Kiser was able to win his heat and place second in the event with a new school record time of 3:58.68.
 
Freshman Aiden Tucker ran a new best time in the 800m run at 1:57.83 in route to a bronze medal finish. Shawn Little was the final Tiger to make podium on the day. Little ran an excellent final 100m in the 5000m run to finish in 15:28.91 and earning the silver medal in the event. 
 
Campbellsville collected 10 team points in the 5,000m racewalk. The Tigers finished fifth through eighth in the event. Chaise Hill was fifth at 33:52.08, Ian McAninch was sixth at 33:52.53, Kipkoech Lang'at was seventh at 34:01.91, and Briley Shrewsberry was eighth at 34:47.96. 
 
In the decathlon, Logan Bargo and Cainan Daniels finished sixth and seventh in the event. Bargo finished with 3618 points while Daniels was at 3525 points in the event. 
 
Campbellsville finished off the day with the final event in the 4x400m relay. The Tigers were in a tie for third place as a team with University of the Cumberlands at 116 points. The team was unable to defeat the Patriots in the event.
 
Overall Campbellsville placed fourth in the championships with 116 team points. Lindsey Wilson won the meet with 208 team points, beating out Cumberland University at 197 points. Up next for the Tigers is the NCCAA Championships in Greenville, Ill.
