BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A big week for the Campbellsville University softball team gets even bigger as senior
Tori Humphrey was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week, MSC officials announced Monday afternoon.
Humphrey was an offensive powerhouse for CU in their four-game sweep of Thomas More University this past weekend where she hit for a .538 average with four home runs in the series.
By collecting a hit in every game of the series, Humphrey extended her current hitting streak to 19 games while also extending an on-base streak to 23 games. The Paducah, Ky. native also drove in eight runs and scored seven more in the 33-run four-game series for the Lady Tigers.
Winning those four games in Crestview Hills, Ky. was important for the Lady Tigers as they clinched a share of the MSC Regular Season Championships and earn the No. 1 seed in the MSC Tournament, avoiding the need to play an opening round series this weekend.
The Lady Tigers will be back on the field on May. 6 in the first round of the MSC Tournament, to be hosted at Lindsey Wilson College for all games but two loser's bracket games that will be at CU's Hord Softball Field.
