Lady Tigers share regular season crown and earn No. 1 seed in MSC tournament

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Mid-South Conference Tournament bracket has been released and the Lady Tigers earned the No. 1 seed giving them a few weeks to prepare for their postseason run.

Campbellsville won 26 of its last 30 games including 14 of its last 15 and eight in a row to clinch a share of the MSC regular season title – the Lady Tigers MSC leading ninth overall – and also the No. 1 seed.

CU and Lindsey Wilson share the regular season title after both went 27-5 in conference play. The 17th-ranked Lady Tigers finished the regular season with an overall record of 37-11 while No. 4 Lindsey Wilson went 37-7 overall. The regular season title for CU is the ninth in program history - which is the most in the MSC (2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2021).

Tiebreaker Info for No. 1 Seed:
  • The first tiebreaker was head-to-head matchups. Due to COVID shortening the MSC schedule, CU and LWC didn't play each other this year.
  • The second tiebreaker is record against common conference opponents starting at the top of the standings and going down. Both Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville went 3-1 against third-seeded Freed-Hardeman.
  • The third tiebreaker went to the Cumberlands matchup. Fourth-seeded UC took three of four games against Campbellsville but Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands didn't play this season due to COVID shortening the conference schedule.
  • The fourth tiebreaker for the No. 1 seed and bye into the final site of the conference tournament came down to the Bethel series for both clubs. CU won three of four over Bethel and Lindsey Wilson split its series in the last regular season matchups of the year.
Opening Round Matchups Beginning Friday, May 30:
  • No. 2 Lindsey Wilson defeated No. 11 Pikeville on Tuesday, 6-0 and 5-1
  • No. 3 Freed‐Hardeman (35‐9, 23‐7) vs. No. 10 Shawnee State (8‐26, 6‐24)

MSC Championship Final Site:

  • The final site hosting responsibilities were handed to Lindsey Wilson College.
  • Fans will have to purchase tickets in advance on the MSC's Hometown Ticketing Portal. A link will be provided first to parents and family members of the student-athletes.
  • The five opening round winners will join Campbellsville at LWC for a double-elimination tournament starting on Thursday, May 6 and the finals playing on Saturday, May 8.
  • LWC will provide all video broadcasting and statistics for the conference tournament.
  • Fans can tune into the CU Sports Network for coverage for a FREE radio broadcast with Jordan Alves on the call.
