Eric Graves removes interim title, officially retained as Campbellsville bowling head coach

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After serving as the temporary head coach for the Campbellsville University bowling teams, the interim title has been removed as Eric Graves will be the head coach for CU bowling heading into 2021-22, Athletic Director Jim Hardy announced.

"It is my pleasure to announce Eric Graves as the new Men's and Women's Head Bowling Coach," Hardy said. "Eric has served as interim since December and he has shown he is absolutely the best for the job. He will relinquish his title of assistant athletic director but will still have some game management responsibilities. We are excited about his leadership and growth of this program."

Graves took over after Campbellsville and former head coach Justin Ward agreed to mutually part ways prior to the start of the 2021 portion of the schedule.

His first season was highlighted by the strong individual season from Ashley Moch on the women's side as she earned the program's first ever NAIA All-America honor after a fantastic season.

Over the previous four years, Graves has been working as the assistant athletic director for academics as he works in coordination with the CU academic offices, coaching staffs, student-athletes, and the NAIA to make sure Campbellsville's student-athletes maintain the proper academic status to be eligible to compete.

Prior to his current role, Graves mainly worked as a football coach as his career started all the way back at the start of the Campbellsville football program at 1988 as he was an assistant coach under Ron Finley from 1988-2005. Between his two separate stints of working at CU, he was the head coach for a pair of high schools, first at Adair County High School from 2005-11 then at Taylor County High School from 2011-16.

His secondary education has strictly come from Campbellsville as he originally graduated with his bachelor's degree in Social Science in 1994 and has since earned a pair of master's degrees in 2009 and 2016.
