Fighting Tigers close out 2020 season with road game at Cumberland University

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The unique 2020 football season will come to an end for the Campbellsville University football team after they face off with Cumberland University this Friday for a 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT kickoff in Lebanon, Tenn. at Nokes-Lasater Field.
 
The game will air on WLCU-FM, 88.7 The Tiger, as Matt Payton will be on the call for the regular season finale. A video stream will be available for the game via Cumberland University at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/cu/ for those that want to watch the action.
 
Cumberland University does allow both home and visiting fans to their football games as tickets can be purchased at https://www.gocumberlandathletics.com/tickets/.
 
TIGER NOTES
  • Campbellsville had a significantly better offensive performance against Lindsey Wilson compared to their previous two games as they scored 21 points against the Blue Raiders after one scoring one touchdown against Georgetown and Cumberlands.
  • It was a huge night for receiver Tate Pringle as he caught 15 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns, breaking Jarred Harrington's previous school record for receptions in a game.
  • Defensively the Tigers allowed 493 total yards to Lindsey Wilson with 340 of those yards coming through the air and 153 yards coming on the ground.
  • The turnover battle was even between the two teams as Campbellsville forced a recovered two different fumbles but the Blue Raiders picked off a pair of Josh Meglis passes.
 
SCOUTING CUMBERLAND
  • The Phoenix are also 1-5 on the season with their lone win of the season coming last week against Bethel as they earned a 41-38 victory.
  • Offensively, Cumberland has only scored more than two touchdowns in a game twice in their 56-22 loss to Lindsey Wilson then followed by their win over Bethel.
  • Cumberland is averaging 35.3 points allowed per game as they're season low allowed in a game happened twice when they gave up 19 points to Thomas More and Georgetown in a pair of losses.
  • The Phoenix use a strong running game with lead running back Treylon Sheppard amassing 847 yards on the ground and quarterback Brandon Edmondson the second leading rusher with 148.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
  • Campbellville's 2020 will come to an end following Friday's game as they will focus on getting things turned around for the start of the 2021 season, scheduled to being on Sept. 4 for the Tigers.
