COLUMBIA, Ky. – Through two days of rain, the Campbellsville University men's golf team was able to secure a second-place finish at the Blue Raider Invitational September 20
th and 21
st.
After the first day was shortened by a torrent of rain, the Tigers finished 11-under-par with an 841 (278-281-282). Campbellsville was only one of three teams present to round out the invitational under par. From finishing 25 over par for fourth place at the Texas Intercollegiate a week before, the Tigers bounced back for a remarkable performance.
Jonathan Brewington left the invite tied for fourth with a four-under-par 209 across the three rounds. Brewington was one of two individuals with three under-par rounds (the other being Janik Hawlitzky of Lindsey Wilson who finished in first place). The Tigers recorded another top ten finish in
Austin Mahoney who shot two-under-par with a 211 (69-70-72).
Kobe Hill carded a 212 (70-73-69) with a huge final round to be the third of three Tigers who finished under-par.
Dominic Ramsey (215) and
Landon Conner (219) rounded out Campbellsville's first team. The Tigers also had a "B" team who competed. Leading the way for them was
Connor Wilson who shot a 217 (71-73-73) good for a 19
th place individual finish. As a team, Campbellsville's "B" team finished 7
th which was better than the other "B" team present: that of the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson's 17-under par second round was a program low for team strokes-under-par. The Blue Raiders scored an 830 (289-267-274) for their home invitational victory.
The Tigers will now begin to prepare for the upcoming Invite at Innsbrook in Palm Harbour, Florida on Sept. 27
