Berrah’s and Kieh’s hat tricks brings the Lady Tigers to back-to-back conference wins

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky – The (RV) Campbellsville University women's soccer team have now been victorious in five straight matches following their triumph against the Shawnee State University Bears Saturday afternoon 7-0.

From first kick, the Lady Tigers took control of the contest and never ceded it. Angeline Kieh made her mark in the 5th minute when she went inside-out with her dribble one-on-one against a Bear defender and scored the opening goal. Only a minute later, the Lady Tigers would find the net again. Forward Lina Berrah connected for her first goal of the match from an assist by fellow forward Rebecca Lilley. A mere three minutes would pass before Kieh would connect on another goal. Kieh made the most of another one-on-one opportunity pulling the goalie and chipping the shot just over the keeper's slide. Shawnee State would establish their own breakaway soon after, but freshmen goalkeeper Doeschka Birnage shut it down with a clutch save. The Lady Tigers would score again before the half in the 22nd minute from a strike by Lina Berrah. The junior midfielder Sangmin Cha controlled a ball in the box and found Berrah on the left side for the score.

Coming into the second half, the Lady Tigers had ten shots compared to two for the Bears. Both of those shots by Shawnee were on goal while seven of Campbellsville's were. Birnage's two saves kept the Bears scoreless entering half number two.

Berrah and Kieh both secured their hat tricks early in the new half. Berrah's shot was from an assist by Kieh in minute 55 and Kieh's was assisted by Lilley in the 62nd minute. The hat tricks were the first of both players' careers. Ten minutes later, senior Lauren Woodcock recorded her first goal of the season off a line-drive corner to the near post by Hope Sanders. The remainder of the event would be scoreless.

The 6-1-0 Lady Tigers will hit the road against the (5) University of the Cumberlands for their next match. That intra-conference game will take place on Tuesday, September 28th at 5 p.m. ET.
