KANSAS CITY, MO – Campbellsville begins the season as a top contender at #10 in the NAIA Top 25 Preseason poll.
Last season Campbellsville made it to the NAIA Opening round and fell to Olivet Nazarene 7-4 in the championship matchup.
The team returns the Mid-South Conference player of the year in
Ryley Whitney. Whitney finished the regular season with a .448 batting average, eight home runs, 44 RBI, 14 doubles, 17 walks, and slugged .727. Her batting average finished second in the MSC, slugging percentage was fifth, her 64 hits finished third, runs batted in finished fifth, doubles was second, and on-base-percentage of .497 was fourth.
Shannon Wathen was also named the Mid-South Conference coach of the year for the 10
th time in her career.
The Mid-South Conference has several teams that are represented in the poll. Freed-Hardeman is ranked 15
th, University of the Cumberlands landed at 22
nd, and Lindsey Wilson is 23
rd.
Campbellsville is set for opening day of the 2022 season in Miami, Florida on February 10
th when they faceoff against Florida National University.
