LOUISVILLE, KY – Tigers impress at Bellarmine Open with a dozen top ten finishes and to open the 2022 calendar year.
On the track,
Darionta Bell and
Elijah Moore led the way in the sprints. Bell placed third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.06 while Moore was in a tie for fifth at 7.15. Moore came back in the 200m dash with his second tie of the day crossing the line in second at 22.914 seconds.
Amarion Morrison placed fifth in the 60m hurdles at 9.26 seconds. Maikah Stowe was just outside the top five placing sixth in the 400m dash with his time of 51.71.
Sam Kiser was the only other athlete to gain their way into the top ten on the track. Kiser placed ninth overall in the 800m run at 2:01.78.
In the throws,
Seth Cartwright was the lone thrower for the Tigers. Cartwright placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 13.02m. In the weight throw he placed 10
th overall in the event throwing a distance of 10.20m.
In the jumps,
Corey Smith II led the way both the long and triple jump. Smith placed third in the long jump at 6.56m and second in the triple jump at 14.30m.
Camron Hamby joined Smith in triple jump close behind at third with his mark of 13.95m and placing runner-up in the high jump with a height of 1.95m. Greg Carr finished fifth in the long jump at 6.38m.
Cainan Daniels and
Logan Bargo finished inside the top five in the pole vault. Daniels placed third with a height of 2.80m while Bargo was fourth overall at 2.20m.
Campbellsville returns to action next Friday in Louisville to co-host with Georgetown College for the Tiger Paw Invitational.
