CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The #1 Lady Tigers hosted a Mid-South Conference contest against Georgetown College Monday night. Campbellsville climbed to 15-0 as they defeated the (RV) Georgetown Tigers 71-55.
To begin the match, both teams were antsy and traded possessions frequently. Stemming from their stout defense, the Lady Tigers made their first shot attempt over two minutes into the contest. Georgetown kept the Lady Tiger shot attempts low, but Campbellsville's intensity kept them in the lead with strong paint play from
Kaitlynn Wilks. Georgetown received their first lead with an under-the-basket move late in the first quarter. The Lady Tigers retaliated by hitting their first three-pointer of the night with 32 seconds left in the period. The score displayed 10-9 in Campbellsville's favor after one.
The second quarter began much like the first with back-and-forth changes of possession.

At halftime, the Lady Tigers were shooting 39.3 percent from the floor, which fell well under their typical 50.6 percent. Lee led the team with eight points, then followed
Lexy Lake with seven points and Wilks with six. McGeorge was ending Georgetown possessions with her team-high four rebounds.
Campbellsville blazed into the third with a
Lexy Lake layup. A double-digit lead was accomplished by the Lady Tigers quite quickly. However, Georgetown managed to keep their composure and prevent Campbellsville from blowing the game open. The Lady Tigers would appear at the stripe six times finishing 10 out of 12 within the third quarter alone. Heading into the final frame, Campbellsville was ahead of Georgetown 47-36.
The final quarter was rewarding as McGeorge advanced Campbellsville's cushion early with back-to-back layups. Sharpshooter
Lexy Lake increased the Lady Tiger lead to 14-points with a shot from deep. Although Georgetown never lost fight, Campbellsville maintained a double-digit lead all quarter. Lee had a key three to bump the Lady Tigers to a 16-point advantage establishing her career-high in points. By game's end, the score stood at 71-55 for Campbellsville.
