PIKEVILLE, Ky.–– The Lady Tiger soccer team traveled to Pikeville, Ky to match-up against Pikeville University. Campbellsville produced a 6-0 shutout against the Bears, their fourth Mid-South Conference victory in a row.Â
Jenna Croteau led the way for CU's offensive attack as she carded a hat-trick, including her first goal of the season. In the first 25-seconds of the game, Agatha Nimene made a pass to Lina Berrah for a Lady Tiger first goal. Campbellsville's desire to dominate had shown as they had accumulated nine shots since that goal. The Lady Tigers scored again the 20th minute of play with a goal provided by Croteau assisted by Berrah. A couple of minutes later, Angeline Kieh tallied a goal herself. The Lady Tigers kept up the pressure on the Bears. The Bears sat at a lengthy deficit as Croteau again added to the scoreboard with another shot in the net. As the half reduced to a close, Campbellsville was leading 4-0.Â
At the half, it was clear that Campbellsville frequently maintained possession of the ball. The Lady Tigers took 20 shots toward the goal whereas Pikeville had only taken three. Riley Thompson amassed herself two saves out of the Bears' two shots on goal.Â
The second half was slower for the Lady Tigers but still rewarding. In the 54th minute, Croteau capped off her strong offensive showing with another goal. Pikeville could not find traction to shorten the ground between them and the Lady Tigers. Campbellsville's defense and eagerness for the ball kept the Bears from attempting shots. Berrah collected her second goal of the night to put the Lady Tigers ahead 6-0 to end the match.Â
The Tigers will reappear at Finley Stadium this Saturday, October 15th to host the #4 University of the Cumberlands. The match is to begin at 6 P.M. ET.
