MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The #4 Lady Tigers opened their 2022-2023 season down south in McKenzie, TN. They faced the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at St. Louis Eutectics. The Lady Tigers finished the game with a commanding 35-point victory in their first win of the season. 
 
The First quarter was off to a fast start for the Lady Tigers, as the first three minutes they were able to jump out to a quick 10-0 lead. The Eutectics were finally able to break the stalemate as late in the play clock, they would hit a 3 to make the score 10-3. Courtney Pritchett was quick on the trigger nailing two huge 3s on back-to-back possessions, pushing the Lady Tigers' lead to 11. The Lady Tigers continued their dominance through the end of the first quarter, as they placed themselves well in the lead with a late quarter 3 from Lauren Lee, 24-7. Pritchett lead the team in scoring through the first frame.
 
The carryover of the hot start and 3 pointers for the Lady Tigers continued. In the first two minutes of the quarter, they had already put up 8 points. They did not slow up either, halfway through the second quarter they had extended their lead to 27. CU was playing an unbreakable press and fully extending their defense. The Lady Eutectics started to make a push back as they were able to bring the game within 22, but the Lady Tigers put an end to their run with Maddy Boyle hitting a big triple. Campbellsville continued their dominance as they finished the half up 47-23. Leading the way was Pritchett with 19 and 15 of those coming from three-pointers. Boyle got it going in the second with 8 points, and Lauren Lee lead the Tigers in assists with 6. 
 
The Tigers after the first half, outscored their opponent by 24 shooting 58% from the field and 56% from behind the arc. The Lady Tigers also were able to get busy on the glass as they pulled down 16 boards in the first half, and dished the ball for 9 assists. The Lady Tigers defense looked elite as well, holding the Eutectics to just 7 points in the first quarter and 16 in the second quarter. CU held the Eutectics to 43% from field goals and were able to disrupt their flow with 4 turnovers.  
 
The 3^rd quarter started with the two teams trading steals before Boyle was able to get the action started with a quick lay-up off the turnover. Lee was then able to keep it hot for the Lady Tigers after getting an and-one off the steal by Kaitlynn Wilks. The Lady Tigers started to assert their dominance once again off a hot start, putting up 11 unanswered points before the media timeout. This put Campbellsville firmly in the lead with a score of 58-23. Bailey Pedigo gave up a quick foul that broke the 11-point run, but she quickly came down and banged a three-pointer. Then the next possession was able to get another jump shot to fall. This pushed the lead out to a 40-point lead, 65-25 halfway through the 3^rd quarter. The Lady Tigers finished the quarter with a huge lead of 45 points going into the 4^th quarter with a score of 75-30. 
 
Pritchett finished with 19, Boyle had 14, and Wilks ended with 13. The Lady Tigers also shot 55% from the field (32 of 58), 46% from behind the arc (12 of 26). Campbellsville as a team combined for 26 boards and 18 assists. The Lady Tigers played great defensively as well holding the Eutectics 38% from the field and 42% from behind the arc, while also causing 10 turnovers. 
 
The #4 Lady Tigers will play again tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET against the Brescia Wildcats on a neutral site in McKenzie, Tenn.
