BOWLING GREEN, KY – Peyton Johnston has earned the Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year honor in just her first season.
Johnston has made a statement in her first season as head coach for the Tigers. She has produced the Player of the Year in Molly Shannon and the Setter of the Year in
Paige Merrick.
In the final match of the regular season, her team clinched the Mid-South Conference regular season title and the overall number one seed in the tournament. That title also gets them an automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament.
This season Campbellsville has fought to a 19-5 overall record and continues to make Gosser Gymnasium one of the toughest places to play in the conference with an 8-1 record at home this season.
Peyton's team boasts a 13-2 conference record this season and are winners of six out of their last seven matches.
Campbellsville will meet the winner of Freed-Hardeman and Georgetown College in the Mid-South Conference Quarterfinal round on Thursday October 10
th for a 3 p.m. first serve at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green, KY.
