BOWLING GREEN, KY – Lady Tigers were able to finish out the Mid-South Conference Championships placing fourth overall.
Campbellsville received a first-round bye and saw Thomas More University in the second round of play. Lady Tigers pulled out the early sweep defeating the Saints (144-97, 157-134, 161-93, 180-131).
Lady Tigers who were the three seed in the tournament, saw University of Pikeville soon after defeating the Saints. Pikeville was able to get past the Lady Tigers in a sweep. The Bears won with scores of (192-158, 212-192, 210-163, 198-140).
The team was able to regroup themselves and make it to Saturday when they defeated Bethel on Friday evening. This matchup was the first that Campbellsville had to play more than five games. Campbellsville won the matchup 4-1 with scores of (155-134, 187-178, 148-183, 186-178, 181-145).
On Saturday, University of the Cumberlands defeated the Lady Tigers in a seven-game series that went into the seventh game. The Patriots won over Campbellsville by scores of (139-156, 209-202, 150-158, 178-213, 209-179, 176-113, 168-159).
In singles play,
Mirena Combs led the Lady Tigers with her top five finish placing fifth overall. Combs bowled a five game score of 1,011 (172, 230, 215, 212, 182). All-Conference
Shelbi Morris and
Morgan Stone found themselves inside the top 20. Morris placed 16
th in individual play (150, 182, 221, 234, 167) while Stone was 19
th (236, 195, 176, 166, 172).
In doubles, Stone and Morris placed inside the top 10 placing seventh overall with their combined five game score of 1899 (386, 377, 397, 400, 339). Combs and
Isabella Martinez finished just behind their teammates in eighth place with the same score of 1899 (395, 390, 363, 381, 370).
Lady Tigers will return to action next weekend when they travel to Indianapolis for the Hoosier Classic.
