Kiser hits NAIA A Standard while Hamby named MSC Indoor Freshman of the Year

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Tigers were able to finish fourth overall at the Mid-South Conference Championships with a final score of 117.
 
Sam Kiser led the way for the Tigers who won the 1,000m run with an NAIA A Standard with a time of 2:29.32. That time is .04 seconds off his school record which is set at 2:29.28. Kiser turned around in the 800m and added more points on the board placing fifth at 1:59.14. Aiden Tucker finished in the bronze medal position in the 800m with his time of 1:57.92.
 
In the men's mile run, Lukas Smithson and Dakota Brady were within one second of each other finishing in back to back positions. Smithson placed fourth overall with a time of 4:30.28 while Brady was close behind in fifth at 4:30.41. Brady came back in the 3,000m run just missing a podium finish with his time of 8:55.15 placing fourth overall.
 
Shawn Little was just behind Brady in positioning in the 3,000m at 8:55.78. Finishing off the distance side of the track the men's 4x800m relay earned the bronze medal. Tucker was joined by Alexander Steen, Jarrett Crawford, and Collin Sheffield running a time of 8:18.92.
 
The men's triple jump saw the most points on the day. CamRon Hamby placed runner-up in the event with a mark of 14.33m. Corey Smith was in third place overall behind Hamby at 14.03m. David Young and Brevon Whitney were close to Hamby and Smith. Young placed fifth at 13.74m while Whitney placed sixth in the event with a mark of 13.44m.
 
Elijah Moore was the final Tiger to score points on the track. Moore placed third in the 60m dash finals with a time of 6.94. Cainan Daniels placed eighth overall in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 2.85m.
 
The 4x400m relay saw points come in on the final event of the day. Stowe, Harris, Hamby, and Trotter placed fifth in the race and ran a time of 3:26.86.
CamRon Hamby was named the Mid-South Conference Indoor Freshman of the Year for scoring the most points as a freshman at the meet.
 
Campbellsville will now have two weeks to prepare for the NAIA National Championships.
