JOHNSON CITY, TN. – Tigers sharpen up racing at the Buccaneer Invitational over the weekend.
Shawn Little and
Dakota Brady were the key highlights of the weekend. Little was able to run a 15:31.25 in the 5,000m run while Brady was close behind at 15:37.07 which qualifies them both for the upcoming NCCAA Championships.
Sam Kiser hit his NCCAA mark in the 800m run. Kiser placed fifth overall in the event with a time of 1:57.20.
Aiden Tucker and Alex Steen were trailing Kiser in the event. Tucker placed 11
th overall with a time of 2:00.77 while Steen was 17
th at 2:05.01.
Lukas Smithson was the final distance event key performer. Smithson placed 29
th at 4:38.46.
David Young had a big day in the long jump. Young set a lifetime best with a mark of 6.83m which puts him at NCCAA #2 ranked. Young came back in the triple jump with a ninth-place performance of 13.63m.
Corey Smith was just ahead of Young in the triple jump with his mark of 13.88m.
In the sprints,
Elijah Moore was 18
th in the 60m semi-finals with a time of 7.09.
Maikyah Stowe placed 22
nd in the 400m dash at 52.00 and Barrye trotter placed 33
rd with a time of 53.04.
Amarion Morrison was 13
th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.18.
Seth Cartwright came close to a key scoring position in the shot put with a 12
th place finishing mark of 13.24m.
Campbellsville will now travel to Cedarville, Ohio February 11-12 for the NCCAA National Championships.
