BOWLING GREEN, KY – Campbellsville had multiple top 15 performances over the weekend at the Hilltopper Relays.
CamRon Hamby stole the show for the Tigers with two top 10 finishes. Hamby was 8
th in the long jump with a mark of 6.37m while in the triple jump he placed third with a mark of 14.24m.
The jumps have been the key so far on the season for the Tigers success.
Corey Smith was 11
th in the long jump at 6.28m while being 4
th in the triple jump at 13.80m.
David Young was 14
th in the long jump with his distance of 6.19m while in the triple jump making his way up to 7
th with a mark of 13.39m.
Barrye Trotter and
Brevon Whitney rounded out the performances in the jumps. Trotter placed 15
th in the long jump at 6.17m while Whitney was 9
th in the triple jump with his mark of 13.24m.
Maikyah Stowe opened his rookie outdoor season in the 400m. Stowe was mid pack placing 15
th with a time of 51.96. Stowe was part of the 4x400m relay that placed running a time of 3:32.18 with Trotter,
Isaiah Harris, and
Elijah Moore also on the relay. Moore saw action earlier in the meet with his 9
th place performance in the 200m at 22.70.
Jackson Harrelll was able to make finals in the 100m dash running a time of 10.91 placing 9th overall.
In the distance events,
Sam Kiser returned to outdoor form with a bronze medal finish in the 800m run at 1:55.56 while
Aiden Tucker wasn't far behind Kiser with a 9
th place finishing time of 1:58.98.
Shawn Little made his first appearance in the outdoor 5K after winning the NCCAA crown last outdoor season. Little placed 10
th overall in the event with a time of 15:33.79.
Lukas Smithson was the final top tier performance of the meet for Campbellsville. Smithson made his debut in the 3,000m steeple chase with a time of 10:17.22.
Campbellsville will return to the track April 8-9 when they travel to Bellarmine University.
