GULF SHORES, ALA. – The Tigers season comes to a close in Gulf Shores after competing at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Campbellsville started out their championship meet in the 4x100m relay. The last time the Tigers had a 4x100m relay in the meet was back in 2017.
Jackson Harrell,
Brevon Whitney,
Darionta Bell, and
Elijah Moore were all on the championship relay this meet.
Bell started off in the blocks who handed the baton off to Moore, Moore was on the backstretch and gave the baton to Whitney who then gave it to Harrell to bring it home. The Tigers were unable to get out of the preliminary round placing 32
nd overall at 42.32.
In the triple jump,
CamRon Hamby led the trio of athletes in it including
Corey Smith and
David Young. Hamby qualified for finals in the event with a new school record mark of 14.98m which breaks Tre Webb's record from 2019 of 14.95m. Hamby was .01m behind an All-American spot placing ninth overall. Smith was 14
th at 14.68m and Young was 25
th with his mark of 13.84m.
