CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – Cheerleading had a busy offseason this year and it began with the signing of Makenna Meeks.
Meeks a Russell County High School graduate will begin her freshman season in the fall of 2022. Makenna will be aiming to major in criminal justice during her time here at Campbellsville.
"When I first stepped on CU's campus I felt right at home," said Makenna. The students and staff were truly so welcoming, I never wanted to leave campus. CU provides the perfect balance of a smaller class sized but with a big university feel. For me, I love making personal relationships with my professors and classmates, and I feel CU was the perfect places to accommodate to my academic needs. When it comes to cheer, I immediately felt part of the family."
Meeks comes from a tradition of winning. Her freshman year she was part of the first runner-up state cheer competition team and seventh at the national UCA cheer competition for coed. During her sophomore season she was seventh in the nation again at UCA national cheer competition. In her senior season, she bumped up to fifth in the nation at the UCA cheer competition.
Makenna was part of the national honors society in school. She was actively involved in FCA, volunteering at Nashville rescue mission and WJRS Food Box Drive.
