COLUMBIA, Ky. – Several Tigers traveled down Highway 55 to take part in the Lindsey Wilson Invite at The Pines on August 29
th and 30
th. Due to circumstances, only the "B" team partook in the invitational, but still they finished fifth of seven teams present.
The first day of action consisted of two rounds in which
Chase Wilson led the Tigers shooting -1 (69) in round one. He nearly matched that same production in round two shooting +2 (72), finishing the day tied for 11
th at +1. Following Wilson, the Tigers had
Ethan Harlow who shot +8 in the first round (78) and +2 in the second round (72), good for 23
rd on the day and
Clay Barnett T-26
th at +13 (78 and 75).
Isaac Powell was 30
th at +12, Tucker Toone ended his day 36
th at +19 (78 and 81) and rounding out Campbellsville's efforts was
Austin Stockdale who was 43
rd shooting +37 (90 and 87).
Day two continued the action, the Tigers were able to shoot their best score as a team in round three with a 293. This was not enough to push them any higher in the leaderboards though and they left the Pines fifth out of seven teams. The freshman Wilson once again led the Tigers and had a good showing as he finished T-12
th and carded +2 (72) on the day for a final score of +3. Wilson was followed by Harlow who carded a +2 (72) in the third round of play and came in 23
rd at +12. Barnett was able to fight back from a rocky first round to end with a +2 (72) last round leaving him +15 for the invite at 27
th. The rest of the scoring break down for the Tigers had Powell finishing the day +7 (77) and +19. Toone was +9 (79) in round three and +23 for the invite while Stockdale shot +17 (87) on the day and was +54.
Sebastian Sandin of Lindsey Wilson captured the individual title, scoring a 16-under-par (194: 64-60-70) total for his three rounds which was a program best and the lowest ever 18-hole round at The Pines bringing him to a one-stroke victory.
The Tigers will appear next in the Vincennes University Invite at the Country Oaks Golf Course in Montgomery, Indiana on September 10
th and 11
th.
