MONTOGOMERY, Ind. – Selected competitors of the Tiger golf team traveled to the Vincennes University Invite at the Country Oaks Golf Club on September 10
th and 11
th. The Tigers shined in both the team category with an overall team win as well as five individuals placing within the top ten.
Jon Brewington took 1st in individual play carding -2 (70-72, 142) to best 2nd by one stroke.
On the first day of play, six of Campbellsville's player remained within the top 19 performers and three players earned top five positions on the leaderboard. Brewington finished day one 2nd shooting -2 (70).
Kobe Hill was another leading Tiger (T-3
rd) as he shot -1 (71). Hill was shooting above par (39) in the first nine holes until he found his footing on the back half of the course.
Chase Wilson, playing as an individual, finished T-5
th on the day. Wilson shot even with a score of 72. Following Wilson,
Seth Bohl finished 13
thwith 75 and
Landon Conner and
Dominic Ramsey finished T-19
th with scores of 76.
Ethan Harlow, also competing as an individual, finished T-33
rd with a 79. As a unit, Campbellsville played +4 with a total of 292 and were leading the 12 other teams after the first day.
Campbellsville kept their lead going into day two. Brewington was awarded overall individual by shooting even (72) for the day securing his first-place finish. Hill finished 5
th by shooting +3 (75) and Bohl moved up to trail him in 6
th place. Bohl was even in the second round (72) which resulted in his rise on the board. Conner and Ramsey moved up to T-7
th as they both were even on the day (72). Wilson shot +6 (78) that caused him to fall five places but still had finished T-10
th. Lastly, Harlow shot an 83 to collect his placement of T-49. Campbellsville as a team logged the most birdies at the invite with 35, nine better than the second team (Danville Area Community College). The Tigers took home the team win with an even score (288) and a total score of 580.
The Tigers will next hit the green at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. The Dalton State Invite is set for the 26
th-27
th of September.
