PULASKI, Tenn. – The #25 Campbellsville Lady Tigers traveled to Pulaski to take on the #5 University of Tennessee Southern Saturday afternoon. The Lady Tigers came into the game after a loss to another conference opponent in Cumberland University. Though they led for 54 minutes, the Firehawks scored three goals in the second half to eek ahead and escape with the win, 3-2.

Campbellsville wasted little time with #11 Angeline Kieh getting the ball across the pitch to net the first goal of the game in just the second minute. The goal was assisted by Agatha Nimene, her third on the season. The Lady Tigers defended the pitch well for the remainder of the first half only allowing four shots and only three of those on goal. 

The second half started out as fast as the first one, but not in Campbellsville's favor. This time the Firehawks took advantage, using the break in action at the half to re-strategize and break apart the Lady Tigers' defense, tying things up at 1's in the 48th minute. The two teams traded possessions for the next 19 minutes until the 67th minute when Lina Berrah was able to advance the Lady Tigers to 2-1 on a well-kicked ball to the right corner. The ball soared past two defenders and the goalie as Campbellsville got back into the driver's seat. The Lady Tigers succumbed to the elusive Firehawks when they struck back evening the score at 2-2. Shortly thereafter, Tennessee Southern sent another shot into the box pushing the Firehawks ahead 3-2. When the final horn sounded the #5 Tennessee Southern bested Campbellsville 3-2. 

The Lady Tigers look to bounce back in Crestview Hills, Kentucky as they take on the Saints of Thomas More on Friday, September 30th. Coverage for the match will start at 6pm ET.
