Lady Tigers make ninth conference win against Blue Raiders

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Our Campbellsville Lady Tigers hosted the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders on Thursday night. The Lady Tigers won in straight sets over the Blue Raiders, 3-0.

Cierra Merrick opened the first set of the match with a kill for the Tigers. The Blue Raiders attempted to retaliate, but Morgan Furness swiftly blocked their attempts. Lindsey Wilson made their way to the scoreboard as Campbellsville held a 5-point advantage. In the development of the frame, the Tigers' fierce offense kept the Blue Raiders trailing, with Hannah McGill, Molly Shannon, and Merrick landing kill-after-kill. McGill and Brooke Hager blocked an attack from Lindsey Wilson, winning the first set, 25-17.

A service ace from Camryn Rich set the second frame into motion. The Blue Raiders were quick to retaliate with an ace of their own, but the Tigers skillfully reclaimed the lead. Rich and Hager's arduous defense at the net kept Lindsey Wilson from coming close on the scoreboard. Shannon and Furness kept racking kills for Campbellsville, propelling the Tigers forward on the scoreboard. With a 13-point advantage, Campbellsville won the second set over the Blue Raiders, 25-12.

The first kill of the third set came from the Tigers, as Rich assisted Merrick on the attack. Lindsey Wilson struck with a couple kills of their own, taking the lead early in the frame.
