CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After honoring their 14 seniors on senior night, the (RV) Lady Tigers took the pitch against the Georgetown Tigers for the final contest of their regular season. Campbellsville took the 3-1 win with them headed into postseason play.
Campbellsville went into the match already locked into their Mid-South Conference Tournament opening round opponent, the fifth-seeded Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders. The match-up against Georgetown saw the Lady Tiger offense dominating the field. In just the 13
th minute,
Angeline Kieh drilled one straight into the back of the net after a dribbling showcase. The Campbellsville Tigers showed off in the stats by having seven corners in comparison to Georgetown's zero in the opening half. Nearing the half, Campbellsville got another point on the scoreboard again from Kieh navigating around defenders and kicking another strike.
The second frame saw continued Campbellsville control. Just seven minutes into the half,
Bethin Boyle scored with the jumping tap-in off the cross from
Agatha Nimene. Campbellsville had seven shots five on goal, as did Georgetown. The rival Tigers did manage to convert one attempt in the 82
nd minute. Throughout the half, various seniors got to get subbed into the match and all had an impact on the 3-1 outcome.
The Lady Tigers concluded the regular season 6-6-3 and 3-2-1 in the MSC. Kieh led the squad with her 17 goals on the year, Nimene had a team-high five assists, and
Rirei Sasaki ended with a 62% save percentage.
On Friday November 3rd, the Lady Tigers will next compete in the opening round of the MSC Tournament. The Lady Tigers will take on the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders at home in Finley Stadium at 6 p.m. ET.
