Maddy Boyle, Campbellsville stormed back to take the victory, 93-77.
The game opened with a basket from the Patriots.
Maddy Boyle made the first bucket for the Lady Tigers with a three-point shot. Shortly after, the Patriots regained the lead.
Sarah Sutton came off the bench with a three-point jumper bringing Campbellsville to only a one point deficit to the Patriots at the end of the first quarter, 23-22.
In the opening seconds of the second quarter, the Patriots made a layup, quickly matched by a shot near the basket from
Maddie Nalley. Halfway through the second quarter,
Kaitlynn Wilks stood at the line, landing a free throw that tied Campbellsville with the Cumberlands. By the end of the half, the Lady Tigers never saw the lead but remained close to the Patriots on the scoreboard, 46-43.
Campbellsville shot 40% from the field at the half and went 12-15 at the free-throw line while Cumberlands shot 50% and were a perfect 3-3 at the charity stripe. Wilks led the Lady Tigers with 14 points. Right behind her was Boyle with 12 points.
Courtney Pritchett made the first bucket to start the third quarter, providing a three-point jump shot that tied Campbellsville with the Cumberlands. As the third quarter went on, LTB went up 24 points with some big shots from
Bailey Pedigo,
Lauren Lee, and Boyle. The Lady Tigers entered the fourth quarter leading the scoreboard, 67-64.
Campbellsville wasted little time growing their lead by another 15 points, and only midway through the fourth quarter did Cumberlands score again with a three-point jump shot. With under a minute left in the game, Pritchett stood at the line, going two for two, finishing the game with a 16-point lead and winning over the Patriots, 93-77.
By the end of the game, the Lady Tigers finished with 29-of-53 from the field (46%) and 12-of-21 from the three-point line (57.1%), while the Patriots finished with 31-of-74 from the field (41.9%) and 7-of-20 from the three-point line (35%). Campbellsville had three players in double-digit points, with Wilks with 22 points, Pritchett with 21 points, and Boyle with 17 points.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action for the Mid-South Conference Championship from February 21st to February 27th.
