KENNESAW, GA – Outdoor season is in full swing, and the Tigers took advantage of the warm Georgia weather over the weekend.
CamRon Hamby led the way for Campbellsville with an NAIA B Standard mark in the triple jump. Hamby placed runner-up in the event with an early season best of 14.42m.
Matthew Mays also collected an NAIA B Standard mark in the triple jump with his distance of 14.37m, placing 3rd overall.
Mays and Hamby also competed in the long jump this weekend. Mays earned his second NAIA B Standard of the meet with a mark of 7.18m placing 6th overall. That mark is.01m of Garland Webb's 7.19m set back in 2019. Hamby finished 7th in the long jump with his 7.01m jump.
On the track,
Chance Lucas and
Jaron Hamby ran the 100m-200m double over the weekend. Lucas dipped under the 11-second barrier in the 100m with his 12th-place finish of 10.94. In the 200m, he finished 28th in 22.39. Hamby 23rd in the 100m at 11.54 while placing 35th in the 200m at 22.93.
Campbellsville will return to the track on March 31st and April 1st, when the teams will split travel to the Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green, KY, and the Centre College Invitational in Danville, KY.
