Mays and Smith earn NAIA All-American honors in the triple jump

BROOKINGS, SD – Matthew Mays and Corey Smith earned their first NAIA All-American honors of their careers in the triple jump Saturday afternoon.
 
The duo was able to hit their best jumps of the day in the late stages of the event. Mays hit a new school record of 14.83m on his third jump of the day. Smith was able to come .01m behinds Mays on his final jump of the afternoon hitting a mark of 14.82m.
 
Mays placed 4th overall with Smith coming in at 5th.
 
CamRon Hamby placed 21st overall in his third appearance at the NAIA championships with a mark of 14.04m.
 
The Tigers will return to the track for the outdoor season opener at Kennesaw State University on March 24-25.
