CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The #23 Lady Tigers faced Thomas More in the third game of their series Monday afternoon. The contest proved to be a pitching battle until the final inning when Thomas More took the win, 2-0.
The first four innings flew by as neither team landed a hit until the Saints did in the bottom of the fourth inning. In that same time frame, Campbellsville didn't see any hits but had a few on base with no reward of a run. The Lady Tigers connected for their first hit of the game in the top of the sixth with a single from
Lexi Miller. Three outs came before Miller could come home and get Campbellsville on the board.
The game was ended by Thomas More in the bottom of the seventh when their leadoff was walked and the next at-bat homered giving them the 2-0 win victory.
The game was a pitcher's duel through all seven innings. Chadwell threw 79 pitches with a .646 strike percentage and the Saint's pitcher threw 101 pitches with a .634 strike percentage. Chadwell had five strikeouts, one walk, and two earned runs.
Lady Tiger Softball will be back in action Friday, April 28
th when they travel to face to #14 Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University. The game will be in Hendersonville, Tenneessee with the first pitch at 6 p.m. ET.
