LEXINGTON, KY – The regular season has come to a close for the Tigers in Lexington, KY, at the Jim Green Invitational over the weekend.
Campbellsville set the bar high early on Saturday afternoon in the light rain. The 4x100m relay team punched their automatic ticket to the national championship in May.
Darionta Bell,
Elijah Moore,
Campbell Rawlings, and
Maikyah Stowe broke the previous school record by .43 seconds, running a 41.34 and hitting NAIA A standard.
Rawlings had himself a big weekend on the track this weekend. He continued his record-breaking weekend in the 100m. Campbell placed 6th overall with a time of 10.76, breaking the previous record by .03. He placed 10th overall in the 200m Friday evening in 21.83.
William Riley brought in a top-five finish for Campbellsville in the 400m hurdles. Riley finished 5th in 1:00.57.
Ishan Cooper gave the Tigers a top-ten finish in the 110m hurdles with his 10th-place time of 15.34.
The 4x400m relay team fought off a short period of heavy rain on Saturday.

Zachary Phelps,
Noah Rogers, and Stowe placed 4th in the relay in 3:28.11.
The distance crew finished out top-ten finishes on the weekend.
Lukas Smithson and
Myles Smithson finished back-to-back in the 3,000m steeplechase. Lukas finished in 9th at 10:11.14, while Myles was 10th in 10:20.97. Alex Steen dipped under the two-minute barrier for the first time this season with a 3rd place finish in 1:58.89.
Shawn Little gave Campbellsville another school record to change in the 3,000m run. Little ran an outdoor best time of 8:54.98, breakings

Seth Cartwright had two top-five finishes on the weekend. Cartwright placed 4th in the javelin with a mark of 39.07m and was 5th in the shot put in 14.07m.
Caleb Baumgardner finished behind Cartwright in the javelin in 5th at 37.48m.
Grover Russell was 6th in the shot put with his mark of 13.21m.
Jonah Oliver had a big day in the discus on Saturday with a 1.27m PR in the event, placing 7th overall, and a toss of 39.36m.
The jumps crew has been consistent all season for the Tigers in big meets. The triple jump brought the most highlights this weekend.
Corey Smith was the runner-up in the event at 14.80m. The Campbellsville Male Athlete of the Year and Newcomer of the Year,
CamRon Hamby, was 4th overall in 14.43m.
Matthew Mays finished just behind Hamby in 5th in 14.24m,
Jaron Hamby was 7th in 13.41m, and
Jackson Harrell rounded out the squad in 12.31m.
In Friday evening's long jump event,
Kilan Macklin hit another 7.09m mark this week, placing 5th in the event. Mays finished 7th in the event at 6.67m, and Smith was 8th in 6.58m.
The high jump produced three Tigers in the top ten. CamRon placed 7th with his height of 1.90m, Macklin was 8th in 1.85m, and Mays finished in 10th at 1.80m.
The final event of the weekend for Campbellsville was the pole vault. Baumgardner led the way with his 6th place mark of 3.33m.
Blake Skaggs and
Zachary Weiss finished in a tie for 7th in 3.33m. With Baumgardner clearing the height on his first attempt then he finished ahead of Skaggs and Weiss who cleared the height on their third attempt.
Campbellsville will now look ahead to the championship season. They travel to Williamsburg, KY, for the Mid-South Conference Championships on Sunday, May 7th, and Monday, May 8th. They will then move onto Columbia, SC, for the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships May 10-12. The team will conclude the 2022-23 season at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Marian, IN, May 24-26.
