Williamsburg, Ky. – The Campbellsville University (RV) Lady Tiger soccer team traveled to Williamsburg, Kentucky, on Saturday to take on the #3 University of the Cumberlands Patriots. In the conference opener, the Lady Tigers were defeated by the Patriots, winning 5-2.
The Patriots started the match and scored their first goal just before the six-minute mark. Just moments after, Angeline Kieh was given a yellow card. The Patriots scored another goal to take their lead to 2-0. With a few minutes of playing remaining in the first half, Kieh scored the first goal for the Tigers. The goal was assisted by LuLu Harris and Isabelle Preslijc. Despite the Tiger's best defense, the Patriots were able to answer with a goal of their own just 45 seconds later.
In the first ten minutes of the second half, Alba Vea was given a yellow card. In the 61st minute, Agatha Nimene scored the first goal of the second half and cut the Patriots' lead to 3-2. On a penalty kick, the Patriots extended their lead to 4-2. With seven minutes to go, the Patriots scored another goal. The Patriots won the match, 5-2.
The Tigers had nine shots, with five of those on goal.
The Tigers will be back on the pitch on Saturday, September 30th, at Finley Stadium in Campbellsville, Kentucky, to take on Cumberland University. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. E.T.
