DANVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville Lady Tigers traveled on the road to take on the Centre College Colonels. During the 76th minute of play, Campbellsville secured the 1-0 victory, with Marta Prieto scoring the match's only goal.
The Lady Tigers and Centre Colonels remained scoreless in the first half, struggling to break in the defense. Campbellsville's shots were solid saves from Centre's goalkeeper, Grace Dutcher, while Millie Shakespeare prevented Centre's scoring attempts. Neither team could dominate the field, leaving the match tied at 0-0 as they headed into halftime.
In the second half, both teams fought hard to find the back of the net. The Lady Tigers scored in the 76th minute, with Marta Prieto scoring the goal assisted by Oddny Helgadottir. Shakespeare made vital saves to keep the lead. The match ended 1-0 in favor of Campbellsville.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Friday, October 18, to host the Freed-Hardeman University Lions in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
